When I receive an assignment that involves writing, I really don't mind. To me, it's not anything like a burden because my approach to writing is like thinking out loud. Whenever I write, I just pour out whatever is in my head. I guess I just like it that way because it gives me a sense of freedom. I mostly do this when I do pleasure writing. Since I was young, I've always liked to write. I would write stories, however, very childish. I still have the notebooks where I wrote some of my stories when I was a kid. Until now, I sometimes write, still. There are times when I just really, really feel like writing. After reading a book, I sometimes get inspired to write something. There was even this one time when I really wanted to write something like Gossip Girl, and so I wrote a few pages, which I still have right now. I've also tried keeping a diary/journal. Here, I'd write whenever i feel like it. When I'm down or when I'm really happy, I write down my feelings. What happened throughout the day would also be reflected in my "notebook".
"Freedom writing" is what I like best, because as I said, I can write down anything. I wouldn't have to care about an audience listening to it, or about people reading what I've written. There would be no limitations to what I'm writing. There would be complete honesty in my opinions and ideas, and this is why I find freedom writing a pleasant experience. Actually, there hasn't been any unpleasant writing experience for me, except maybe when we used to write essays in Filipino. The translating part is rather hard for me. I don't like it when I have the ideas, but I can't really say them the way I have them in mind because I can't find the right words. I am so much more comfortable writing in English. When I am about to write a lengthy paper, I don't really have any special tools, though I think I prefer to use the computer more. It's just easier and less tiring, too. Whenever assigned a writing task, I don't try getting out of it, because again, I don't define writing as a burden. I, however, wouldn't actually volunteer to write something, or join a publication.
When asked to write something, I pick a topic that I have some particular interest in, of course. I don't organize my sentences once I begin writing. I just write down everything, and edit it after. This is like what Dr. Nemenzo said during his writing discussion yesterday, and I completely agree. It's truly hard to organize all the thoughts and ideas before writing. In tests, sometimes there are essays, and I can't really make the words freely flow(that would create a messy paper), so, I organize my thoughts and write at the same time. This makes me more slow in the writing process, because unlike in what I call "freedom writing", I organize while writing. I like the opposite because all that I write down are still fresh. When they come into my mind, I automatically write them down, and do the organizing after having written everything already. I think this makes any paper more interesting.

hi jorja,
the color of the background contradicts the color of your main topic, which make it hard to read.My advice, just change the background setting then your good. its really good to know that you really listen to Dr. Nemenzo's discussion. ;)
Your blog title is very interesting.:)
You're lucky you love to write. I wish I have that desire too.:)
I can see, and have read, that you write well. It's a nice blog you have here. Keep it up!:)
Is it me or are you really bad? haha..
I've always wanted to love writing. Its just that I am lazy. Thank you. Because of you, I've become more lazy than ever. Nah.
I will try my best to be more like you.
I couldn't agree more to Joan. I wish I had your enthusiasm in writing :)
Although, I also had a diary once, but I was a Grade 1 student back then and it had drawings in it, not writings. :))

Jorja,
I agree that writing essays in Filipino is as difficult as finding a needle in a haystack. I have a classmate before who can write better tagalog in his essays.
Just like you, I prefer writing in english. *expects bashing about "not being nationalistic*
You wrote something like Gossip Girl???
Awesome. I am currently following the series. I hope you can show to us your writings about it. :))
Well, most people said it already haha. You're a good writer (lucky you) your ideas are very much organized, and your grammar skills are nearly perfection haha. Keep up the good writing, you never know it mind end up as a series :P
